Compassionate Product Management is all about approaching colleagues, users, and ourselves with compassion and curiosity, leading to collaborative solutions that solve the root problem.
This approach is inspired by techniques learned through meditation, yoga, and energy work.
Building a product and building a life can both be seen as a series of experiments that show us how to create freedom, joy, and purpose every day.
Both work and life can be a series of meaningless rituals OR an invigorating flight of curiosity and empathy. It is our choice.
As a coach and product leader, I encourage the individual and team to stay grounded in compassion and curiosity as we run experiments. This is how we solve real problems for ourselves and others.
She is a product management advisor, consultant, and coach who has been a product leader for 14 years and worked in tech for 20+. Her speciality areas include AI and SaaS products for healthcare and education.
I’ve built a methodology based on Agile and Design thinking frameworks and supplemented with creative experiments, lively design sessions, empathic user interviewing, better integration of the UX and engineering teams, bespoke process improvements, and productive conflict resolution.
I found that I was bringing skills I’ve learned through yoga and meditation to my work as a product leader and want to share those tools. Mindset, personal perspective, and perceived differences (real and imagined) directly impact our ability to understand problems deeply, address them creatively, and collaborate and deliver efficiently.
“Roopa is an empathetic, experienced, and passionate product management coach who provided an organized, calm, and down to earth approach that addressed both general and specific nuances of product management. Her ability to introduce large concepts and break them down into smaller bite sized pieces is unmatched as she reinforces them with examples from her extensive experience in the field leading products from ideation to launch. Her coaching extends from the knowledge and skill based to general career techniques when facing issues such as imposter syndrome, workplace anxiety, and managing work life balance.”
